Bea has been involved with training dogs since 1984. She trained her first obedience dog, Au, to an obedience Utility title. Her second dog, Ember, a Champion Tracker, has a Utility Dog title and a Variable Tracking Dog title. After having had only one dog at a time for fourteen years of training, she decided to have a second dog in her family when Ember was bred in 1997 - keeping a pup from the litter, Journey. Journey now a Champion Tracker and has CDX, VST & JH titles. Both Ember and Journey have CGC and Active Therapy Dog International titles - having more than 150 visits to Senior Day Care Centers and Assisted Living Alzheimer’s units. Journey has also earned his International Championship and GRCA Working Certificate title. Journey has helped with successfully tracking two lost dogs in December 2000 and December 2001 who escaped from automobile accidents on major highways in California.

Bea has been an Assistant Trainer, working with Rosalie Alvarez since 1999 and has been an Obedience trainer and a Rally trainer since April 2003. Her tracking experience began in 1994 and she teaches tracking classes all year - focusing on Beginning Trackers and on Variable Surface Tracking.
